Health Economics & Value Based Supply Chain Management

Vito L Tanzi, PhD, JD, MPH

Vito L Tanzi is the founder and President of Trova Consulting based in Washington DC. He is also teaching (virtually) as an Assistant Professor of Health Policy and Management in the Faculty of Health Sciences of the American University of Beirut. He teaches courses in Health Economics, Health Ethics/Bioethics and Health Accounting & Finance.  He completed his PhD at Johns Hopkins University, MPH at Boston University and JD at Concord University.

He was an expat and worked as the VP of Business Development & VP of Finance at the Hammoud Hospital University Medical Center in Saida, Lebanon.  He has previously worked for the World Bank, Abt Associates, Covance, Medtap International, and the George Washington University Medical Center.  Dr. Tanzi is fluent in Italian, and French and has working knowledge of Spanish and Arabic. 

Dr. Tanzi is also an International Speaker providing training and lectures in Health Economics, Pharma-Economics, and Bioethics. International speaking activities have included San Francisco, Washington DC, Chicago, Boston, Dubai, Minneapolis-St Paul, Johannesburg, Amman, Beirut, Tunis, Istanbul, Sharjah, Paris, Abu-Dhabi, Riyadh, Jeddah, Warsaw, Prague, , Ljubljana, Santiago, and Sâo Paulo.

Infectious Disease Physician & Risk Management

Zena Hammoud, MD

Zena G. Hammoud, MD, MS is a Physician in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases.  She completed her Medical Degree at Pennsylvania State Medical School and her Internal Medicine/Infectious Disease training at the George Washington University Medical Center.  She is licensed to practice in DC and Virginia.  She also holds a Master of Science degree in Microbiology from Boston University. 

Dr. Hammoud recently launched Trova Consulting Inc., a healthcare consulting firm based in Washington DC.  She just stepped down in January 2021 as the Chief Medical Officer & Chair of Internal Medicine of the Hammoud Hospital University Medical Center in Lebanon.   Over the past 20 years she was Chair of the Internal Medicine Department, Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program, Head of the Division of Infectious Diseases, and oversaw the committees of Infection Control, Occupational Health & Safety and Clinical Quality & Patient Safety.   

She has a special interest in infection control in under-resourced areas and community outreach health projects.  She is fluent in Arabic and German.

Diana Hammoud, MBA

Diana Hammoud was the Chief Executive Officer & Chairman of the Board of Hammoud Hospital University Medical Center.  Diana earned her MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Business.

From 2010-2015, she served as an elected member of the City Council of Saida.  She is very passionate about community service and improving the daily lives of members of our community.  In addition to running a 300 Bed University Hospital with more than 700 employees she has spearheaded multiple Social and Environmental projects and campaigns.  

Some of these projects include Pediatric Cardiac Patient Support, Breast-Cancer Awareness, Helping Orphans and Disabled Members of Society, School Based Hand-Washing, Waste Management and Recycling Programs.

Operations & Logistics

Layal Rinno Ghaddar

Layal is in charge of Middle East Operations. She was the Executive Assistant of the CMO and VP of Finance of Hammoud Hospital University Medical Center. Her expertise is in logistics and operations. She also lots of experience working with United Nations, International NGOs and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility Programs).
